Cyfanswm grantiau gan Elusen Ogwen yn mynd dros £50,000. Sefydlwyd Elusen Ogwen ym mis Rhagfyr 2020 er mwyn helpu i ddosbarthu peth o'r elw Ynni Ogwen, er budd y gymuned leol. Yn ddiweddar, cynhaliwyd cyfarfod Ymddiriedolwyr i gymeradwyo pum grant newydd, gyda'r pumed, i Ganolfan Tregarth, yn mynd â chyfanswm y grantiau i £54,249. Dywedodd Lowri Williams, Cadeirydd yr Ymddiriedolwyr, ei bod yn falch iawn o gyhoeddi’r grantiau diweddar a'i bod yn edrych ymlaen at fedru cynnig cymorth pellach i grwpiau lleol yn y dyfodol.

Ers dyrannu'r grant cyntaf ym mis Awst 2021, i Ymddiriedolaeth Gwiwerod Coch Cymru, mae Elusen Ogwen wedi talu 28 o grantiau. Mae'r elusen yn cynnig grantiau o hyd at £3,000 ar gyfer grwpiau cymunedol yn yr ardal a wasanaethir gan Gynghorau Cymuned Bethesda, Llanllechid a Llandygai. Mae rhestr lawn o feini prawf grantiau'r elusen i’w gweld ar ei gwefan, ond yn fras nod yr elusen yw ariannu prosiectau sy’n gwella’r amgylchedd lleol, yn arbed ynni, neu’n helpu i leihau tlodi. Dros y pedair blynedd diwethaf, maent wedi helpu i ariannu paneli solar a goleuadau solar, ffenestri gwydr dwbl, systemau casglu dŵr glaw, gweithgareddau haf i blant lleol, goleuadau LED rhad-ar-ynni, pecynnau o eitemau arbed ynni i deuluoedd lleol a llawer iawn mwy!

Dywedodd Gareth Cemlyn Jones, "Fel Cadeirydd Ynni Ogwen rwyf yn falch iawn o’r gwaith mae’r Elusen wedi ei gyflawni ers ei sefydlu yn 2020.

Gweledigaeth Partneriaeth Ogwen wrth greu Ynni Ogwen oedd sicrhau cynnyrch ein hunain a defnyddio’r incwm o werthu’r trydan er lles y gymuned yn y Dyffryn. Mae’n amlwg fod hyn wedi ei wireddu a hoffwn ymestyn ein diolch i’r tîm am y gwaith rhagorol yma.

Dyfarnwyd y grantiau diweddaraf a gyhoeddwyd gan yr elusen i Barc Moch (i ariannu gweithgareddau’r haf), Clwb Criced a Bowlio Bethesda (ar gyfer goleuadau ynni’r haul allanol a thanc dŵr newydd), Dreigiau'r Dyffryn (goleuadau LED newydd), Partneriaeth Ogwen (dyddiau gweithgareddau i deuluoedd) a Chanolfan Tregarth (ffensys a llwybrau allanol newydd).

Elusen Ogwen grants exceed £50,000 Elusen Ogwen was established in December 2020 to help distribute some of the profits from Ynni Ogwen, for the benefit of the local community. The Trustees recently met to approve five new grants, and the fifth, to Canolfan Tregarth, took the total amount of grants made to £54,249. Lowri Williams, Chair of the Trustees, said she was delighted to announce the recent grants and looked forward to being able to offer further help to local groups in the future.

Since making the first grant in August 2021, to the Red Squirrels Trust Wales, Elusen Ogwen have made 28 grants. The charity provides grants of up to £3,000 for community groups in the area served by Bethesda, Llanllechid a Llandygai Community Councils. A full list of their grant criteria can be found on their website, but in broad terms the charity aims to fund projects that improve the local environment, save energy, or help reduce poverty. Over the last four years, they have helped to fund solar panels and solar lighting, double glazed windows, rainwater collection systems, summer activities for local children, energy-efficient LED lighting, packs of energy-saving items for local families and much, much more!

Gareth Cemlyn Jones said, "As Chairman of Ynni Ogwen I am very proud of the work the Charity has carried out since it was established in 2020. The vision of Partneriaeth Ogwen when creating Ynni Ogwen was to secure our own resources in order to generate income from the sale of electricity for the benefit of the whole community in Dyffryn Ogwen. It is clear that this has been achieved and I would like to extend our thanks to the team for this excellent work.

The latest grants announced by the charity went to Parc Moch (to fund summer activities), Clwb Criced a Bowlio Bethesda (for external solar-powered lighting and a new water tank), Dreigiau'r Dyffryn (new LED lighting), Partneriaeth Ogwen (family activity days) and Canolfan Tregarth (new external fencing and paths).
